Possible damage to children caused by compulsory vaccines: CVS calls for investigation of federal agencies

In a letter to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of House and Senate Committees charged with oversight of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Coalition for Vaccine Safety (CVS) is calling for hearings to investigate HHS, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other government agencies for failure to fully address issues of vaccine safety as intended by the Mandate for Safer Vaccines in the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Compensation Act.

Minimally invasive TAVR procedure saves more lives than open-heart surgery, shows study

For the first time, a minimally invasive transcatheter valve - tested by Baylor Research Institute in Dallas (BRI) - has been shown to save more lives than open-heart surgery, according to new research revealed at the American College of Cardiology's 2014 Scientific Sessions and published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

Rosuvastatin well tolerated by a broad range of patients with dyslipidemia

The safety and tolerability of rosuvastatin were assessed using data from 16,876 patients who received rosuvastatin 5-40 mg in a multinational phase II/III/IIIb/IV program, representing 25,670 patient-years of continuous exposure to rosuvastatin. An integrated database, consisting of 33 trials whose databases were locked up to and including September 16, 2005, was used to examine adverse events and laboratory data.

Antacid medicines improve overall survival in patients with head and neck cancer

Patients with head and neck cancer who used antacid medicines to control acid reflux had better overall survival, according to a new study from the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
