Brain's primary visual cortex can drive the timing of actions

But Johns Hopkins neuroscientists have found, in rats, that the brain's primary visual cortex (VC) not only portrays the visual world but can also drive the timing of actions.

AACR announces recipients of Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer Research

The 33rd Annual CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium will honor two leading breast cancer researchers during its meeting, which will be held Dec. 8-12 in the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas. Klaus Pantel, M.D., Ph.D., is the recipient of the 2010 AACR Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer Research, funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Neways, Mali Rising Foundation complete new school for Malian children

The Neways Academy, a school that will enable hundreds of Malian children to enjoy access to secondary education, is officially completed. Neways partnered with Mali Rising Foundation, a Utah-based nonprofit, to construct the school in Touban, a rural village in Mali, West Africa. The school was recently dedicated with a large celebration to commemorate the completion.
