IOF, ISCD to develop new training courses to focus on osteoporosis diagnostic techniques

Two leading international organizations in the bone field are joining forces to establish a global series of training courses. Seropositivity to SARS-CoV-2 among asymptomatic blood donors in New York

New York was the hardest-hit U.S. state during the peak of the outbreak in the country. Now, a team of researchers from the New York Blood Center and Serimmune, an immune intelligence company, aimed to determine the prevalence of seropositive people for the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19, among healthy blood donors.

Auxilium Pharmaceuticals' XIAFLEX gets FDA approval for treatment of Peyronie's disease

Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a fully integrated specialty biopharmaceutical company, announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved XIAFLEX (collagenase clostridium histolyticum, or CCH), an in-office, biologic for the treatment of Peyronie's disease. XIAFLEX is the first and only FDA-approved treatment proven effective for PD in men with a palpable plaque and a curvature deformity of 30 degrees or greater at the start of therapy.
