Australian scientists may have found a way to stop deadly bacteria from infecting patients. The discovery could lead to a whole new way of treating antibiotic-resistant "superbugs". The researchers have uncovered what may be an Achilles heel on the bacteria cell membrane that could act as a potential novel drug target.
AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. announced it has completed the sale of its home healthcare business to BAYADA Home Health Care, Inc. effective January 30, 2012. As a result of the sale, AMN will receive cash proceeds of $9.65 million and retain working capital of approximately $4 million.

New research shows that ultra-high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides detailed views of a brain area implicated in Parkinson's disease, possibly leading to earlier detection of a condition that affects millions worldwide. The results of this research are published online in the journal Radiology.
