The student-led Ophthalmology Interest Group recently held a suturing workshop, offering Feinberg students the opportunity to practice surgical techniques on mock organs.
Earlier studies have pegged the risk of motor vehicle crashes with teenagers suffering from attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) behind the wheel, as much higher than what a recent study has revealed. Now it is known that the risk of a motor vehicle crashes with adolescents with ADHD is 36% higher than all other newly licensed teenagers and young drivers. This is high but earlier the risk was considered to be four times higher than this.
The House of Representatives approved a measure by voice vote Wednesday that "instructs U.S. directors at the International Monetary Fund and other global development institutions to use their votes and influence to cancel Haiti's debt," CongressDaily reports (4/15).
During the last three decades, the biopharmaceutical industry has invested significantly in new and improved vaccines, and the collaborative efforts of the [CDC], [the WHO], national governments and industry have led to major progress in addressing global immunization goals and reducing illness and death due to vaccine-preventable diseases.
An international team, which included experts from China, Indonesia, Thailand, the US and Vietnam, say that domestic ducks possibly pose a major threat of spreading avian flu to animals and humans, as not only do they carry the virus with few visible signs, the virus is able to mutate in them, which means they could trigger a human pandemic.
