New hope to cancer sufferers comes from research by South Korean scientists who have found a way to re- produce the human body's own cancer-killing cells through gene therapy.
Researchers in Japan have identified a receptor protein on the surface of heart cells that promotes chronic heart failure.
According to a new survey only six per cent of overweight people believe they should be described as obese. Three quarters of those with an obese body mass index underestimated their weight category, according to the Yougov poll of 2,065 people.
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) recently updated the NCCN Guidelines for Prostate Cancer Early Detection incorporating the results of the recent ERSPC trial that assessed the benefit of PSA screening. The NCCN Guidelines contend that PSA screening does save lives when performed intelligently in men at high-risk of developing the disease.
