American Scientific Resources, Inc. announces Lebanon-based HospiServices is the Company's new distributor in the Middle East and Africa. HospiServices has placed its second order totaling 684 units for the Kidz-Med line of VeraTemp non-contact thermometers which will be distributed to pharmacies.
A latest study has shown that patients with artificial knees were still functional after 20 years, even jogging or playing tennis. The researchers looked at people who had knee replacements between 1975 and 1989 in the state of Indiana and noted that they lived for another 20 years maintained an active lifestyle. All reported at least "moderate" activity.
The study followed over 2,400 infants in Ghana who were given a preventive treatment for malaria or a placebo (dummy pill) when they received routine vaccinations and at 12 months of age.
Virginia Commonwealth University announced Wednesday it has received a $20 million grant - the largest federal award in its history - from the National Institutes of Health to become part of a nationwide consortium of research institutions working to turn laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients.
KalVista Pharmaceuticals, a research-led pharmaceutical company, today announced it has raised $33 million in a Series B financing to support its research and clinical development programs. KalVista will use the funds to advance its proprietary portfolio of plasma kallikrein inhibitors for treating diabetic macular edema (DME) and hereditary angioedema (HAE).
