By evaluating memory performance following a sport session, neuroscientists from the University of Geneva demonstrate that an intensive physical exercise session as short as 15 minutes improves memory, including the acquisition of new motor skills.
Using world-leading research methods, the team of Dr David Wright and Prof Paul Holmes, working with Dr Jacqueline Williams from the Victoria University in Melbourne, studied activity in an area of the brain responsible for controlling movements when healthy participants observed a video showing simple hand movements and simultaneously imagined that they were performing the observed movement.
Scientists at the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory have constructed a computer simulation that allows them to study the relationship between biochemical fluctuations within a single cell and the cell's behavior as it interacts with other cells and its environment.
Warner Chilcott plc today announced its results for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. Revenue in the quarter was $761.3 million, an increase of $515.3 million, or 209.5%, over the prior year quarter.
According to the latest research adults who do not smoke are at a greater risk of dying of serious lung disorders if they grew up around parents who smoked. The study appeared in the latest issue of the journal American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
