A study by Orthopaedic surgeons at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital indicates that new technology could improve the accuracy of Total Hip Arthroplasty procedures by over 20 per cent.
Idaho Technology, Inc. (ITI) has been granted Performance Tested Methods Status by the AOAC Research Institute (Certificate No. 100901) for its E.coli O157:H7 test used with the R.A.P.I.D.® LT Food Security System (FSS). The assay uses real-time PCR technology to identify the presence of E.coli O157:H7 in raw ground beef and uncooked spinach food samples.
Researchers at the North West Lung Centre, run by The University of Manchester and based at Wythenshawe Hospital, have discovered that vacuum cleaners with 'high-efficiency particulate air' or HEPA filters are no more effective than standard models at reducing exposure to dust-mites.
