A new study has found for the first time that depressed patients whose spouses agree with them about the reasons for their illness have a better outcome than those whose spouses do not.
A rapid intervention by the World Health Organization and its partners, the Massoud Foundation and HealthNet International, in Kabul, Afghanistan, made possible by a donation from the Belgian government, should dramatically reduce the incidence of leishmaniasis in less than two years.
A new study has revealed that a commonly and widely used healthcare algorithm may be biased against blacks and may be denying them of vital medical treatment. The study titled, "Dissecting racial bias in an algorithm used to manage the health of populations," was published this week in the latest issue of the journal Science.
Almost 18,000 Americans experience traumatic spinal cord injuries every year. Many of these people are unable to use their hands and arms and can't do everyday tasks such as eating, grooming or drinking water without help.
