The incidence of spina bifida has decreased by 32 percent in the United States over the past decade. The decrease indicates the success of the Public Health Service's recommendations released in 1992 urging women to increase their levels of folic acid intake prior to becoming pregnant.
It will take at least 10 years to eradicate the H5N1 virus from poultry in the six countries where it is endemic, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization said in a report released on Thursday, Agence France-Presse reports.
A new gene therapy developed by researchers at the University of Missouri School of Medicine has been shown to protect mice from a life-threatening heart condition caused by muscular dystrophy.

Furthermore, data demonstrate that KLF12 and EGR1 levels synergistically correlate with poor CRC prognoses.
