Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a fully integrated specialty biopharmaceutical company, today announced that interim data from its Phase 4 retreatment study (AUX-CC-862) evaluating XIAFLEX (collagenase clostridium histolyticum or CCH) in adult patients with Dupuytren's contracture and a recurrent contracture with a palpable cord will be presented for the first time at the American Association for Hand Surgery 2014 Annual Meeting being held January 8-11, 2014 in Kauai, Hawaii.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released data today on a dedicated website from six studies reflecting a two-month period in response to a requirement under the "FDA Action Plan to Enhance the Collection and Availability of Demographic Subgroup Data" to make transparent the percentage of female and minority participation in clinical trials for medications intended for all populations.
Women with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD), or at high risk of developing CVD, are less likely to reach recommended treatment targets than men, according to an international study involving almost 10,000 patients with type 2 diabetes, being presented at the Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), held online this year (27 Sept-1 Oct). Nevertheless, women were less likely to experience adverse CVD outcomes apart from a stroke.
