Tuberculosis bacteria can commandeer the body's defenses in the early stages of infection and redirect them for their own offensive strategies, according to results reported in the scientific journal, Cell.
There is a recent surge in the West Nile-carrying mosquitoes after a relatively dry spell accompanied by warm temperatures last week. The health department monitors about 40 traps across the county two times per week, and last week found four traps in Wheaton alone with infected mosquitoes.
LabStyle Innovations Corp., developer of Dario, a cloud-based, mobile health platform for diabetes and blood glucose monitoring, announced today that it has filed a Premarket Notification Application, also known as a 510(k), with the US Food and Drug Administration for the Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System.
