In 2009, Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, along with Allina Health, New Ulm Medical Center and the community of New Ulm, Minnesota, began a 10-year population health research project to learn if heart attacks and heart disease risk factors within a community could be decreased through community efforts. We all want that summer glow that comes from a day at the beach, but taking in the rays can have long-term implications for our health. Now Dr. Niva Shapira of Tel Aviv University's School of Health Professions suggests a way to make fun in the sun safer ― and it's all in our food.
KYTHERA Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. today presented additional efficacy data from a third Phase II clinical study with ATX-101, a first-in-class adipolytic agent that is under investigation for the reduction of submental ('under the chin') fat. The expanded analysis focused on additional patient reported outcome measures, including instruments measuring submental fat impact, subject global assessments and subject self-ratings of chin attractiveness.
Lower health spending because of slower Medicaid enrollment growth is good news for Minnesota's budget. In Virginia, however, Democrats say a GOP budget doesn't spend enough on health care.
Watch out for that post-Halloween sugar crash on Monday, as well-meaning co-workers bring in buckets and bowls of leftover candy. Too many leftover Halloween treats can expand your waistline and decrease your productivity, said Loyola University Health System registered dietitian Brooke Schantz.
