A significant update to the PROGRESS-CTO (PROspective Global Registry for the Study of Chronic Total Occlusion Intervention) International Registry was presented today as late-breaking clinical science at Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) Scientific Sessions 2018.
A new study published in the April issue of Radiology suggests that chest x-rays may play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of H1N1 influenza by predicting which patients are likely to become sicker.
Epocal, Inc., a leading edge provider of point of care technology, announced today that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance to market its new lactate test on the epoc Blood Analysis System. Lactate measurements from the epoc System are used to evaluate acid-base status and for diagnosis and treatment of lactic acidosis (abnormally high acidity of the blood).
States must decide by Dec. 14 if they are going to operate their own health care marketplaces, or if they will defer to the federal government. They have until mid-February to decide whether to partner with the federal government or let the feds do it all. Meanwhile, polls in Missouri and Tennessee show public support for state-run markets.
Cancer information charity CancerBACUP welcomes today's report into variations of usage of cancer drugs (postcode prescribing) issued by the Department of Health but says the vital issue of accountability and enforcement has been left unresolved, leaving patients still vulnerable to postcode prescribing.
