When Colorado legalized marijuana, it became a pioneer in creating new policies to deal with the drug.
Pioneer Surgical Technology today announces the market launch of the Pioneer Advantage portfolio of allograft products including a large ALIF interbody, Bigfoot. Pioneer Advantage products include machined allografts for cervical and anterior lumbar procedures as well as demineralized strips and cubes for use in various spinal and general orthopaedic surgeries.
Conventional wisdom says that having just one mutated copy of the cystic fibrosis gene has no effects on a person's health-the disease occurs when both copies of the gene are mutated. But a new study from the University of Iowa suggests that may not be the case.
A first-of-its-kind study into time-dependent treatments of sudden sensorineural hearing loss published in the February 2007 issue of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery has determined that a combination of time and oral corticosteroid therapy can play a key role in helping patients regain full hearing, often within a month of the initial loss of hearing.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Probuphine, the first buprenorphine implant for the maintenance treatment of opioid dependence. Probuphine is designed to provide a constant, low-level dose of buprenorphine for six months in patients who are already stable on low-to-moderate doses of other forms of buprenorphine, as part of a complete treatment program.
