Since 2000, nearly 1,000 "retail clinics" - offering routine care like sports physicals and immunizations and treatment for minor illnesses like strep throat - have opened their doors inside pharmacies and grocery stores across the United States. Expressing concerns that many physicians will be discouraged from conducting medical research because of cumbersome reporting requirements and potential mischaracterizations of their income, the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) is urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to adopt a limited definition of research for purposes of reporting under the Physician Payment Sunshine Act.
Published simultaneously today in four top-tier journals, a new report provides a framework within which physicians and researchers can systematically and consistently identify the different reproductive stages women go though from adolescence to menopause and beyond. The report, named STRAW+10, will help clinicians predict when a woman will enter menopause and guide the selection of treatment options for menopausal symptoms and other related conditions.
The team behind Clinical Conductor CTMS recently debuted new functionality that allows healthcare organizations to better manage adaptive and dynamic clinical research that is becoming more relevant in the industry every year. Included in this quarter's release is functionality that lets users create snapshots of past budgets to be used for better negotiations and invoicing, the ability for organizations to create multiple charge masters, and functionality that provides better handling of protocol amendments.
During the first national lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic earlier this year, and subsequent social restrictions, thousands of volunteers provided a vital lifeline for many vulnerable people throughout an unprecedented time of anxiety and social restrictions.
