New research led by scientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine have found a drug target that suggests a potent way to kill colon cancers that resist current drugs aimed at blocking a molecule found on the surface of cells.
Arrowhead Research Corporation announced today that its portfolio company, Leonardo Biosystems, has received a $2.5 million grant from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund, a state fund established to accelerate commercialization of new technologies. Leonardo Biosystems, co-founded by prominent nanoscientist Dr. Mauro Ferrari, professor at the University of Texas, and Arrowhead's, CEO Dr. Christopher Anzalone, is engineering a multi-stage drug delivery platform to improve the effectiveness of drug therapy, particularly for cancer.
For centuries, it has been generally believed women are the more sensitive gender. A new study says that, when it comes to pain, women are in fact more sensitive.
Researchers have reversed lung fibrosis in a mouse model of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or IPF, as reported in a study published in the journal Cell Death and Differentiation.
Results from a large, international survey shows that only a small fraction of children with rheumatic diseases reported contracting COVID-19.
