Solta Medical, Inc. today announced the donation of a Fraxel re:store laser system to the Grossman Burn Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Grossman Burn Center, a worldwide leader in innovative treatment and care for burn patients and their families.
An experimental drug helped significantly more overweight patients with diabetes shed pounds, compared with placebo, a new study finds. The results will be presented Saturday at The Endocrine Society's 94th Annual Meeting in Houston.
Scientists at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) have determined how two proteins help create organelles, or specialized subunits within a cell, that play a vital role in maintaining cell health. This discovery opens the door for research on substances that could interfere with the formation of these organelles and lead to new therapies for cancer.
MUSC Hollings Cancer Center researchers added to the understanding of the protective immune response against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a study published in April in iScience.
Just before Frank Berry left his job as head of Georgia's Medicaid agency this summer, he said the state "will be looking for the best bang for the buck" in its upcoming contract with private insurers to cover the state's most vulnerable.
