Data show that concurrent with the opioid overdose crisis, there has been an increase in hospitalizations of people with opioid use disorder (OUD).
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development has completed its review of a dioxin exposure study conducted by the University of Michigan in the Midland-Saginaw, Michigan area. EPA found the study was conducted well and provided useful, scientifically credible information. However, the study is of limited value to help EPA fully evaluate human exposure to levels of dioxin in the Tittabawassee River and Saginaw River and Bay.
Prominent cardiac researchers will meet at San Diego State University in November to explore bold new approaches to treating the number one threat to U.S. adults - heart disease.
The proliferation of GPS-enabled phones in recent years has allowed us to take yet another critical step toward push-button emergency location. But until recently, those tools have fallen short of the data emergency medical personnel need to successfully treat patients on-site, to notify next-of-kin and other important contacts, and to make informed decisions for patient transport.
