For youth dealing with obesity who need extra help losing weight, experts suggest a multidisciplinary approach in which care is provided by several health specialists.
One in five older people who drink alcohol are consuming it at unsafe levels - over 21 units of alcohol for men and 14 units for women each week - according to a study by King's College London. The research in inner-city London, published in BMJ Open, found these unsafe older drinkers are more likely to be of higher socioeconomic status.
The site, which is supposed to make transparent payments between drugmakers and physicians, is slated to be made public by Sept. 30. But as the deadline nears, the pharmaceutical industry is pressing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to be more transparent in explaining what's going on with the database.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has blocked a state law designed to eliminate potential fraud in Illinois' Medicaid system by requiring recipients to prove they live in the state and have low incomes.
