An important genetic study conducted through Mayo Clinic has identified vital new information concerning alcoholism in subjects with European ancestry, according to a recent issue of Alcohol: Clinical and Experimental Research.
The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society in collaboration with 2020health, a leading health social enterprise think tank, today announces the results from Invisible Disease: RA and Chronic Fatigue 2014, a survey of 1,954 people with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), to assess the impact of chronic fatigue on their capability for work, emotional and mental health as well as the overall experience of chronic fatigue caused by their RA.
Scientists have used a novel gene therapy to halt the progression of pulmonary hypertension, a form of high blood pressure in the lung blood vessels that is linked to heart failure, according to a study led by Roger J. Hajjar, MD, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cardiovascular Research Center at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
The NHS Trust Stoke Mandeville Hospital, which is presently at the centre of a superbug scandal, was given the lowest infection-control rating in a recent set of NHS performance indicators.
Diabetes may be linked to the buildup of tangles or tau in the brain, separate from Alzheimer's disease, according to a new study published in the September 2, 2015, online version of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
