On 2 June, researcher Stefan Groothuis is being awarded his PhD for this work.
The team of María Domínguez, researcher for the Neuroscience Institute, joint venture of the Miguel Hernández University in Elche and the Spanish National Research Council, has managed to prove for the first time that an important factor in the development of acute pediatric lymphoblastic leukemia is inflammation.
A team of scientists from the University of Granada, the Biohealth Research Institute in Granada, the city's San Cecilio Clinical Hospital, and the Centre for Biomedical Research in Epidemiology and Public Health has found that 9 out of 10 pairs of socks for babies and children from 0-4 years old contain traces of bisphenol A and parabens.
Scientists have identified more than 800 markers in the blood of cancer patients that could help lead to a single blood test for early detection of many types of cancer in future, according to research presented at the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Cancer Conference in Liverpool today (Sunday).
