Scientists at the Medical University of South Carolina have uncovered mechanisms by which high levels of a hormone called FGF23 can reduce brain health.
Cerner Corporation today announced that the CareAware iBus has received CE Marking certification from BSI on the basis of examination under Council Directive 93/42/EEC Annex II Section 3.2.
In an effort to educate parents about the need to protect children's eye health, Prevent Blindness America, the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization, and Real Kids Shades a leading manufacturer of quality eyewear for infants and children, are teaming up to ensure that 5 million children have healthy eyes for healthy futures. The joint effort supports "Star Pupils," a national program of Prevent Blindness America designed to arm parents with the information they need to help their children achieve a lifetime of healthy vision.
Roche today announced that the European Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has issued a positive opinion for use of Tarceva(R) (erlotinib) as a maintenance therapy for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and stable disease (cancer remains largely unchanged) after initial chemotherapy. The CHMP positive opinion clears the way for European Union approval and means that this group of patients may soon be able to benefit from earlier treatment with Tarceva.
A team of scientists from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA, has recently identified six novel small molecule inhibitors of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and its variants. The study is currently available on the bioRxiv* preprint server.
