DePuy Synthes Spine and DePuy Synthes Biomaterials, divisions of DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., announced today they have entered into an exclusive worldwide representative agreement for the marketing and promotion of a new cellular allograft product developed by LifeNet Health, a world leader in allograft bio-implants and cellular therapies.
Researchers at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and the department of neurosurgery at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, announced today that they have published a paper with research findings that could have implications for the treatment of many neurological conditions, including severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Researchers reported today on a procedure that can preserve fertility and potentially save the lives of women with a serious pregnancy complication called placenta accreta. Results of the new study presented at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America showed that placement of balloons in the main artery of the mother's pelvis prior to a Caesarean section protects against hemorrhage and is safe for both mother and baby.
A team of academic and industry researchers is reporting new findings about how exactly an investigational antiviral drug stops coronaviruses.
Noting that many physicians across the country who lead small practices are at a business breaking point, David M. Dale, MD, FACP, president of the American College of Physicians (ACP) testified today before the House Small Business Committee. Dr. Dale emphasized that practices are medicine's small businesses, where much of their revenue is tied directly to Medicare's flawed reimbursement rates and formulas.
