Sachs, M.D., has received an award from the National Palliative Care Research Center to conduct a study aimed at improving quality of life and decreasing suffering for older adults and their family caregivers. The award is one of only two pilot project support grants funded by NPCRC in 2008.
A new study has shown that Americans are probably increasingly consuming the opioid analgesics that are prescribed for their pet dogs. The research shows that one of the reasons behind rise in the opioid epidemic could be the rise in prescription opioids for dogs.
New research explains how the nervous system in the gut causes propulsion along the gut, highlighting similar behavior to other neural networks in the brain and spinal cord.
Despite opposition from the Roman Catholic Church, the Philippine Department of Health will support the use of condoms to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in addition to encouraging education on the topic and promoting measures to guard against sexually transmitted infections, the Philippine Star reports.
