Genital herpes caused by a reactivation of herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) is generally treated as a lesion in one specific area of the genital region. A new study, however, finds that the virus can frequently reactivate throughout the genital tract, an important new concept that could help guide both HSV-2 treatment and prevention.
DATATRAK International, Inc., a technology and services company focused on global eClinical solutions for the clinical trials industry, today announced the signing of an Enterprise Agreement for three new Phase III oncology studies with an existing client. These multi-center studies will be deployed utilizing the unified DATATRAK eClinical™ platform.
Nursing is among construction and law enforcement as one of seven professions reporting the most on-the-job injuries, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Sprains, strains or tears due to overexertion account for many of the injuries. Those injuries often can be attributed to improperly lifting, handling and moving patients. Now, nursing students at the University of Missouri have a new facility that will help them develop skills to keep themselves and their patients safe.
Data from the RE-NOVATE® II study presented today at the 15th Annual Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) have shown that dabigatran etexilate 220mg once daily is as effective and safe as enoxaparin 40mg in preventing venous thromboembolism (VTE) after total hip replacement surgery.
In 2019, Go NAPSACC will be in 20 states working to improve the health of young children. Developed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Go NAPSACC is an online tool that helps child care programs create environments for healthy eating and physical activity in children.
