Hospital administrators are planning to appeal to Fair Work Australia (FWA) today urging to change to the order aimed at stopping nurses' work bands. At present nurses are continuing to close hospital beds despite two directives from the industrial umpire.
Care should be taken to diagnose oral verrucous lesions accurately according to their nature, behavior, and malignant potential, and should be differentiated from grade I squamous cell carcinoma, suggest Indian researchers.
"A team of international scientists has found that a type of hereditary disorder in some communities in South-East Asia and the South-West Pacific protects its sufferers from malaria, a finding that could drive future vaccine design," SciDev.Net reports.
A study by Express Scripts, a mail-order prescription drug provider, said Tuesday that an "estimated $163 billion in health care spending could be saved each year if patients took their medicines as prescribed, chose generic drugs and other low-cost alternatives, and had their prescriptions delivered by mail," the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Express Scripts released its report at a two-day conference for clients in St. Louis.
Texas Health Resources, the largest health care system in North Texas in terms of patients served, and LHP Hospital Group, Inc., have formed a joint venture to acquire Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas. Texas Health will own a majority equity interest in the joint venture that owns Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ and LHP will manage the operation of the hospital.
