The Department of Veterans Affairs joins the Nation in observing Women's History Month in March by honoring women Veterans for their significant historical contributions and encouraging them to take advantage of the VA benefits they've earned.
Children whose mothers are exposed to farm animals and cats are better protected against atopic dermatitis and are less likely to develop this painful inflammation of the skin in their first two years of life. A group of researchers from the University of Zurich and other universities have published evidence supporting this theory in the Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology.
A nationwide collection of multi-specialty physician group practices and industry partners have formed an informal coalition aimed at promoting and protecting the fundamental right of patients with cancer to access an integrated and comprehensive program of diagnosis, treatment, comfort and support of the highest quality.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare said in its report, "Obesity and Injury in Australia: a Review of the Literature", that in spite of the findings being mixed, the probability of falls, trips or stumbles rise with obesity. However, the Institute's James Harrison says the increased risk of injury from falls in the obese may be somewhat offset by the better cushioning body fat provides.
Many wheelchair-using children with neurological disorders have much colder hands and feet than other children, and most receive no special help even though they have had these problems for a long time, is revealed in at thesis from the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
