Leveraging their membership with Amerinet affiliate Health Resource Services (HRS), Kennewick General Hospital (KGH), a 101-bed acute care facility in southeastern Washington state, decreased its bed rental expenditures by 83 percent, and positively impacted quality patient care through the economical acquisition of Hill-Rom critical care and bariatric beds.
Men and women with mental health disorders, across all diagnoses, are more likely to have experienced domestic violence than the general population, according to new research from King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, in collaboration with the University of Bristol. Previous studies into the link between domestic violence and mental health problems have mainly focused on depression, but this is the first study to look at a wide range of mental health problems in both male and female victims.
More attention should be given to patients who have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and concomitant asthma, after a study showed that nearly one-fifth of patients with COPD fall into this subtype.
A new study has shown that use of antidepressants have risen in England after the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. There has also been a sharp fall in prescription of other medications, the study notes.
