ImmunoCellular Therapeutics, Ltd., announced today it will present new data from the previously completed Phase I clinical trial of ICT-107, the Company's lead cancer vaccine candidate for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Chicago, IL.
A new look at a large database of prostate cancer patients shows that obesity plays no favorites when it comes to increasing the risk of recurrence after surgery: Being way overweight is equally bad for blacks and whites, say researchers at Duke University Medical Center.
20/20 GeneSystems, Inc. announced today at ADAPT 2010, an industry meeting focusing on advancing personalized medicine, the commercial launch of their patented technology for biomarker identification in tumors and other tissue samples. 20/20 is currently offering the technology to industry and academic researchers under service contracts.
A new report released by the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization, WHO, in alliance with the Global Breastfeeding Collective – a new initiative to escalate the rates of global breastfeeding – suggests that the recommended standards for breastfeeding are not completely achieved by any countries in the world.
"The Double Exposure study was designed to determine if people under stress go on to develop higher levels of ambulatory blood pressure, possibly moving them along the pathway to hypertension," said Sheldon Tobe, MD, lead investigator from Sunnybrook and Women's Health Science Centre, Toronto. "Double Exposure refers to the possible interaction between job and marital factors on new and existing hypertension.
