Clarient becomes preferred genetic testing lab for Generation Health

Clarient, Inc., a premier technology and services resource for pathologists, oncologists and the pharmaceutical industry, today announced a new contractual agreement with Generation Health, Inc. (GH). This agreement makes Clarient a preferred genetic testing lab for GH, thereby ensuring reimbursement of diagnostic tests done for GH's nationwide network of payor clients and expanding Clarient's potential market. GH is a genetic benefit management company partially-owned by CVS Caremark, the nation's largest pharmacy healthcare provider.

First general selection criteria for lung transplantation in Covid-19 patients

In May 2020, a team led by thoracic surgeon Konrad Hoetzenecker of the Department of Surgery of MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital performed a lung transplant on a 44-year-old patient who had been seriously ill with Covid-19, making her the first patient in Europe to receive a lung transplant for this indication.

Investigators, CTUs chosen to lead five HIV/AIDS clinical trials networks through 2021

Principal investigators and clinical trials units have been chosen to lead and conduct the research of five HIV/AIDS clinical trials networks through 2021. The effort is directed and funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health. Total funding for the networks' leadership and the CTUs is expected to reach $225 million in 2014, the first year of operation.
