Epilepsy Foundation's week of activities to be held to raise awareness of epilepsy and seizures

More than 5,000 people are expected to participate in the Epilepsy Foundation's week of activities March 23 through 27 to raise public awareness of epilepsy and seizures, increase funding for programs and research, and empower people with epilepsy to become advocates for better health care.

Alarming link between marijuana and increased heart risk

Scientists develop new technique to 'turn off' multi-drug resistance capabilities in cancer cells

The ability for cancer cells to develop resistance to chemotherapy drugs - known as multi-drug resistance - remains a leading cause for tumor recurrence and cancer metastasis, but recent findings offer hope that oncologists could one day direct cancer cells to "turn off" their resistance capabilities.

Study finds more evidence linking high-grade serous ovarian cancer to fallopian tubes

High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), the fifth-deadliest cancer among American women, is thought by many scientists to often be a fallopian tube malignancy masquerading as an ovarian one. While most of the evidence linking HGSOC to the fallopian tubes has so far been only circumstantial, a new Dana-Farber Cancer Institute study suggests there is a direct connection, a finding that could aid in the development of better treatments for the cancer.
