Current drug development for neuropsychiatric disorders is in crisis, say experts. More than 90 percent of all drugs that are developed for illnesses like schizophrenia, depression, Alzheimer's disease (AD), or the brain tumor glioblastoma complete successful trials in mice but then come to a grinding halt in human trials, wasting billions of dollars in drug research. Physicians at La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital - Valencia presented their early clinical outcome data on the use of Esteya electronic brachytherapy for the treatment of basal cell carcinoma in a paper in the current issue of Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy. The ongoing study showed 100 percent complete response and excellent cosmetic outcome in all lesions treated to date with Esteya.
Transgender individuals are medically underserved and their healthcare needs incompletely understood in part because they represent a subpopulation whose health is rarely monitored by U.S. national surveillance systems.
