Array BioPharma Inc. and Global Blood Therapeutics today announced a multi-target drug discovery collaboration agreement to identify small molecule lead compounds targeting chronic blood-based diseases.
Hospitals around the world are looking for new and innovative ways to battle deadly pathogens and kill multidrug resistant organisms that can cause hospital-acquired infections, or HAI.
Generex Biotechnology Corporation today announced that it has reached a pre-specified point in the ongoing Phase II trial of its AE37 breast cancer vaccine to initiate its primary efficacy analysis. The drug is a novel immunotherapeutic cancer vaccine being developed by the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Antigen Express, Inc. A previously released positive interim analysis showed a strong trend toward reduced relapse in breast cancer patients receiving the AE37 vaccine.
A team of researchers from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and four other institutions have found that young children with documented or likely allergies to milk and/or eggs, whose families were instructed on how to avoid these and other foods, still experienced allergic reactions at a rate of almost once per year. Of severe cases, less than a third received epinephrine, a medication used to counter anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic condition.
A brain scientist who helped explain how our emotions affect what we learn and remember has won the 2015 University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award for Psychology.
