The U.S. District Court in the District of Delaware has ordered the dismissal of two patent infringement claims originally filed by Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) against Knowles Electronics. The order was issued pursuant to the withdrawal of its claims by Analog Devices under a stipulation of dismissal signed by both parties.
MedClean Technologies, the leading provider of on-site technology for the treatment and disposal of medical waste and the destruction of confidential documents and related media, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with SunBelt Medical Services, Inc. With this agreement, MedClean now has 11 regional distributors covering 41 states, one national partner targeting the Veteran's Administration, and one international partner covering Canada.
Access to doctors is critical to 39 million older Americans on Medicare – including over 1.5 million Illinoisans. But this access might be gravely compromised if Congress takes no action by January 1st, 2011, to prevent a severe cut in pay for Medicare physicians. Today, AARP released a survey of Illinois members, showing overwhelming support for a long term solution that protects patients' access to their doctors.
A study led by Johns Hopkins researchers has linked the immunosuppressive drug mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) to an increased risk of central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma in solid organ transplant patients. But the same study also found that another class of immunosuppressive drugs, called calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs), given alone or in combination with MMF, appears to protect transplant patients against this rare form of lymphoma.
Although China should be commended for some of its HIV prevention policies - including providing antiretroviral drugs at no cost, clean needles to injection drug users and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment information to migrant workers - the government must involve HIV-positive people and nongovernmental organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
