Two University of Texas at Arlington professors known for their innovation in the world of chemistry have been named Fellows of the National Academy of Inventors.
PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on the health and safety of people and the environment, today announced the introduction of a new oncology testing service.
"The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) launched a consortium on Wednesday that would allow the public and private sector to share intellectual property to promote the development of new drugs to treat diseases such as malaria," Reuters reports.
Researchers have for the first time identified the function of olfactory receptors in the human heart muscle, such as are also present in the nose. One of the receptors reacts to fatty acids that occur in the blood, in patients with diabetes significantly above the normal range.
In around 2004, there was a Phillips paper that discussed a new imaging technique called MPI. At that time, I had an eager, promising graduate student named Matt Ferguson who wanted a project, so I asked him to take a look.
