Australian researchers have discovered remarkable evolutionary changes to insulin regulation in two of the nation's most iconic native animal species - the platypus and the echidna - which could pave the way for new treatments for type 2 diabetes in humans.
Milk is designed by nature as a complete food. Its composition has evolved with each mammalian species to reflect the particular environmental conditions and evolutionary demands of the young of that species. Humans have exploited this valuable resource since the dawn of the agricultural revolution through domestication of animals, in particular the cow. We have developed the technology to preserve milk during times of abundance and this has resulted in an array of foods now common in the diets of most human cultures.
Gen-Probe Incorporated today reported financial results for the third quarter of 2010, highlighted by 19% growth in non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) and 8% growth in product sales and total revenues.
Dyadem today announced the opening of its second office in Europe; located in Starnberg, Germany, on the outskirts of Munich. Dyadem, the leader in Operational and Quality Risk Management, has expanded in response to a surge in customer demand in the European Union for its enterprise risk management software and services amid heightened scrutiny of safety and quality standards for companies in the oil & gas, chemical, medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
