That is the conclusion of researcher Bart Jacobs, based on years of research in Cambodia - and on his experience in several other low- and mid-income countries. In Florida, the state hospital association is pressing for a cost-benefit analysis before lawmakers take a final vote on Medicaid expansion, and in Ohio, GOP lawmakers leave the door open for a move later this year.
Researchers have identified two cellular proteins that are important factors in hepatitis C virus infection, a finding that may result in the approval of new and less toxic treatments for the disease, which can lead to liver cancer and cirrhosis.
Contrary to previous research findings that have suggested a link, marijuana use does not appear to be associated with an increased risk of developing oral cancer, according to a large, population-based study led by researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
