In the current issue of Family Medicine and Community Health (Volume 6,Number 3, 2018, pp.115-123, researchers Bishwajit Ghose and Sanni Yaya of the Faculty of Social Sciences, School of International Development and Global Studies University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada, describe how this study is the first to assess the effect of socioeconomic status on blood pressure-controlling behavior among adult women with hypertension in Ghana.
Harvest Technologies Corp. (www.harvesttech.com) announced today that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) approval to commence its BMAC Enhanced CABG Trial. This is a two phase 42-patient 'feasibility' clinical trial using the company's BMAC System to concentrate autologous bone marrow cells to treat patients with congestive heart failure undergoing treatment with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) Surgery.
Teenagers with autism spectrum disorder are in a bind. The disorder is characterized by impairments in communication and social interaction, but it's a continuum, so some teens diagnosed with ASD are considered high functioning and healthy enough to be "mainstreamed" in school.
Heptares Therapeutics Ltd, the drug discovery company focused on G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) targets, announced today that it has entered into an option agreement with the Novartis Option Fund under which Heptares will apply its proprietary StaR(TM) technology to generate novel drug leads against a nominated, unspecified GPCR target of interest to Novartis.
