Naldemedine, an investigational peripherally acting mu-opioid receptor antagonist (PAMORA) under development by Shionogi & Co., Ltd., met its primary and secondary endpoints in a phase III study (COMPOSE I) for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation (OIC) in adult patients with chronic non-cancer pain receiving opioid therapy.
A team, led by senior author Morris J. Birnbaum, MD, PhD, the Willard and Rhoda Ware Professor of Medicine, with the Institute for Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, found that the diabetes drug metformin works in a different way than previously understood.
Mach One Corporation, a global wellness solutions company, and White Hat Brands, LLC today announced the two companies have completed a definitive agreement whereby Mach One has acquired 100% interest in the fast-growing maker of kids' health and wellness beverages, including White Hat's top-seller Dog On It® Fortified Juice Beverages.
Previous studies have explored the effect of periodontal treatment, irrespective of efficacy of treatment, in reducing infant prematurity. Macones (Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri) determined whether a reduction in infant prematurity was associated with successful periodontal treatment.
