United BioSource Corporation (UBC) today announced results from an independent survey that examined late phase product development services delivered by 34 contract research organizations and other scientific and medical affairs companies serving the biopharmaceutical industry. The report, titled 2010 Late Phase Market Dynamics and published by Industry Standard Research (ISR), provided data and analysis from a survey that captured information from 149 respondents, representing 95 companies.

In a study published in the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, researchers found that a high body mass index (BMI) and lack of physical activity were associated with an increase in GI symptoms such as stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Innocoll, Inc. announced that it has held an End-of-Phase 2 meeting with the FDA to present the results of the Phase 2 clinical studies completed for XaraColl and to discuss the proposed safety and efficacy studies to be conducted in Phase 3.
