Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation announced today that the results of a Phase III study of SOM230 (pasireotide) showed a reduction in cortisol levels in patients with Cushing's disease, a condition in which a benign (non-cancerous) pituitary tumor causes the adrenal glands to produce excess cortisol and can be fatal. Results will be presented at the 14th Congress of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA).
To inform policy and identify best practices in helping high school students with disabilities successfully go to college and get good jobs, Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations' (ILR) Employment and Disability Institute (EDI) will partner with New York state on a five-year, $5.1 million research study.
Aptina announced today that Given Imaging Ltd.'s PillCam® COLON 2 includes Aptina's MT9S526 medical image sensor. All three of Given Imaging's patient-friendly, ingestible PillCam® products for small bowel, esophageal, and now colon imaging include Aptina's sensors embedded within the Given Imaging capsules.
