Now, however, scientists have begun to peel back some of the neurological secrets of this remarkable phenomenon and show how the brain can be rewired in anticipation of sensory input to respond in prescribed ways.
Infertility will become more prevalent in generations to come, but interpreting these trends is complicated, say researchers in this week's BMJ.
Montefiore Health System today announced receipt of a four-year, $9.6 million grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) to fund a unique patient-centered approach to providing comprehensive healthcare to those with severe mental illness (SMI).
With over $2.4 million in new federal funding, Wayne State University researchers, regional collaborators at Henry Ford Health System, the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, and community partners will study how exposures to stressors that are prevalent in the urban industrialized environment — both chemical and non-chemical — impact human health in Detroit and beyond.
