Kyoto University implements Isilon IQ for eliminating storage issues in diagnostic imaging research
Isilon® Systems today announced that Kyoto University's Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine has implemented Isilon's scale-out NAS for a new collaboration project focused on identifying new technologies and enhanced functionality in diagnostic imaging. With Isilon IQ, the Department has unified ultrasonic tomography, retinal tomography and MRI image data into a single, highly scalable, high performance, shared pool of storage to accelerate time-to-results for its mission-critical research.

Reclaimed wastewater irrigated crops expose consumers to minute quantities of anti-epileptic drug
A new study by a multidisciplinary team of researchers from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Hadassah Medical Center shows that eating vegetables and fruits grown in soils irrigated with reclaimed wastewater exposes consumers to minute quantities of carbamazepine, an anti-epileptic drug commonly detected in wastewater effluents.
Acne drug may help treat multiple sclerosis
Dr. Luanne Metz, an associate professor of neurosciences and physician-scientist in the Neuroscience Research Group at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Medicine, has found that minocycline, a drug currently used to treat such conditions as acne, decreases the activity of lesions in the brains of people suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS).

Psychologists: A psychologist is an individual who is licensed to practice psychology which is defined as the observation, description, evaluation, interpretation, and modification of human behavior by the application of psychological principles, methods, and procedures, for the purpose of preventing or eliminating symptomatic, maladaptive, or undesired behavior and of enhancing interpersonal relationships, work and life adjustment, personal effectiveness, behavioral health, and mental health. The practice of psychology includes, but is not limited to, psychological testing and the evaluation or assessment of personal characteristics, such as intelligence, personality, abilities, interests, aptitudes, and neuropsychological functioning; counseling, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, hypnosis, biofeedback, and behavior analysis and therapy; diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorder or disability, alcoholism and substance abuse, disorders of habit or conduct, as well as of the psychological aspects of physical illness, accident, injury, or disability; and psycheducational evaluation, therapy, remediation, and consultation. Psychological services may be rendered to individuals, families, groups and the public.
