Patients with a serious type of inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, are not satisfied with their current treatments and the majority do not have their disease under control, according to new research released today at the 9th Congress of the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) in Copenhagen. The majority (87.2 per cent) of the 250 patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis who were being treated with standard therapies failed to achieve control of their disease – defined either as going into remission or not having needed to use corticosteroid medications in the previous two months.1
The 7th annual Ryan Phua Memorial Kids' Ride, featuring more than 700 kids of all ages, will once again provide one of the key highlights at the 24th annual Burlingame Criterium, set for Sunday, June 27, 2010. The race activities will fill the streets, restaurants and shops of downtown Burlingame with thousands of competitive cyclists, children, volunteers and spectators. Adding to the excitement of Ryan's Ride, the day's multiple races will culminate in a Men's pro event and a separate Women's pro event.
Apricus Biosciences, backed by a revenue generating CRO business and seeking to leverage its multi-route NexACT® drug delivery technology and internal pipeline through out-licensing partnerships, today announced that it has entered into agreements with selected investors to sell up to 1,728,882 Units at a price per Unit of $5.40, for aggregate gross proceeds of approximately $9.3 million.
Today marks the launch of the first-ever national advertising campaign in the 90-year history of physiotherapy in Canada. Commercials about physiotherapy will air on the CTV national network, TSN, and Sportsnet during coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver when large numbers of Canadians will be tuning in. The ads will also be appearing on CBC's News Network and TVA's Salut Bonjour. A companion print ad will follow to extend the reach of the message, in time for May, which is National Physiotherapy Month.
