The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is partnering with the Accelerated Cure Project's Multiple Sclerosis Discovery Forum - an interactive online community and information portal for researchers and clinicians - to develop resources and content focusing on progressive MS. Promoting engagement by the research community on issues in progressive MS is one aspect of a multifaceted approach to increasing progress in this underexplored area of research.
Ten young researchers were named Pew Latin American Fellows in the Biomedical Sciences today by The Pew Charitable Trusts. For these scientists, who have dedicated their careers to finding solutions for some of the world's most troubling health problems, this fellowship will provide support that will further their research, enable them to work with colleagues in the United States, and increase scientific knowledge throughout their home region.
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) is pleased to announce that OnSight Medical, an AI-based company specializing in cardiac ultrasound imaging, has won the TCT 2020 Shark Tank Innovation Competition.
Nicholas Christakis, professor of medicine, medical sociology and sociology at Harvard University, and James Fowler, professor of medical genetics and political science at the University of California, San Diego, used the paradox to study the 2009 flu epidemic among 744 students. The findings, the researchers say, point to a novel method for early detection of contagious outbreaks.
