To help slow the spread of COVID-19 and save lives, UCLA public health and urban planning experts have developed a predictive model that pinpoints which populations in which neighborhoods of Los Angeles County are most at risk of becoming infected.
Crown Bioscience, Inc., a leading global drug discovery and development service company, has announced its first European symposium, detailing the use of Translational Platforms including Patient-Derived Xenograft (PDX) models in oncology drug discovery and development. The conference will be held on Wednesday 11th February, at the headquarters of One Nucleus in Cambridge, UK and will welcome experts from renowned pharmaceutical companies and prominent academics working in oncology.
A study led by researchers at University of Helsinki, Finland and Universities of Melbourne and South Australia has identified a new gene for a progressive form of epilepsy. The findings of this international collaborative effort have been published today, 17 November 2014, in Nature Genetics.
The US survey of a population of more than 1000 adults, published as a research letter in the Archives on Internal Medicine, reinforces the idea that chocolate packs heart healthy benefits, despite its high calorie and sugar content. For the study the participants reported eating chocolate an average of twice a week and exercising an average of 3.6 times a week. Their average age was 57.
