La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company today announced that La Jolla and Adamis Pharmaceuticals Corporation have agreed to terminate their merger agreement relating to the proposed merger of the two companies.
Nuvo Research Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company with a diverse portfolio of topical and immunology products, today announced additional details of its new Phase 2 clinical trial (the 2015 WF10 Trial) to assess WF10 for the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
"Every day, 800 women lose their lives giving birth - 287,000 each year - and the vast majority of these deaths occurs in developing countries. ... These deaths are unacceptable, particularly because they are preventable," the heads of the Health 4+ (UNAIDS, UNFPA, UNICEF, U.N. Women, the WHO, and the World Bank, known as H4+) write in the Huffington Post's "Global Motherhood" blog.
Ahmad M. Khalil, PhD, knew the odds were against him - as in thousands upon thousands to one. Yet he and his team never wavered from their quest to identify the parts of the body responsible for revving up one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer, HER2+. This month in Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, Khalil and his colleagues at Case Western Reserve University proved the power of persistence; from a pool of more than 30,000 possibilities, they found 38 genes and molecules that most likely trigger HER2+ cancer cells to spread.
Real-time, 3-D microscopic tissue imaging could be a revolution for medical fields such as cancer diagnosis, minimally invasive surgery and ophthalmology. University of Illinois researchers have developed a technique to computationally correct for aberrations in optical tomography, bringing the future of medical imaging into focus.
