Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its innovative 5-Fluorouracil-coated (5-FU) Central Venous Catheter (CVC) in the United States.

("Aspect") outstanding 2.50% Convertible Senior Notes Due 2014 (the "Notes") expired at 12:00 midnight ET, at the end of December 11, 2009, and was not extended. Aspect became a wholly owned subsidiary of Covidien on November 6, 2009. Aspect has accepted for payment and will purchase all Notes tendered in the tender offer.
